Day 1 - Penzance to Sennen: Finally!

Bright and early - kind of! Heather had to nip out to the post office to sort retrieving passports for the flight home, but that just made it more leisurely! A great start...
At least for a couple of yards, after which we were lost, since Routemaster Gouk had neglected to reprogramme the start point for the YMCA. But again, there were serendipitous results - great empty winding up and down roads, descending into Mousehole, with glorious sun and a blue sea, and a Canadian couple who were keen to discuss cycling and future places to visit.

A trip up the allegedly 2nd steepest hill in Cornwall, followed by more fantastic windy roads, got us to a pub for coffee and a fascinating discussion of helmet vintages. From there a short trip to Land's End, the real start.
Wow. Could it have been a better day?
The short trip to Sennen on the NCN path was idyllic.
Lunch on Sennen sea front, and a steep climb to the B&B!

  1. All the very best to you John and your companions. Glad to see where all the good weather is because it isn't in Scotland. Looking forward to your trip updates. Lovely photos. xx
